Our little piece of heaven

My Lanie Lou

It is Memorial Day weekend. We had every intention on camping all weekend. Grandma was gracious enough to let us borrow her trailer. I was looking forward to not sleeping on a deflating air mattress and have my 4 precious children snore next to me. We started out Saturday night but we all got to sneezing like crazy. Allergies was going wild. So we decided we only live 10 mins away we should go home. We came back early Sunday morning hoping for better weather. No such luck. Then we heard a chance of Tornadoes. This Momma does not mess around. We loaded up the babes and went home. The Weather got better so we decided to go on a date with Matt and Megan. We went to Qdoba and Cold stone. It was fun. Then Jason and I went to see Hangover. Lets just say it was not that great and I need to wash my eyes out with soap.

We had a great Memorial Day. The Weather was 93 and nice and warm. We were very thankful we were at the Lake.

New recipes

I think I am going to make these this 4th of July

HAMBURGER COOKIES

48 vanilla wafers

24 chocolate covered peppermint patties

1/4 c. flaked coconut

1 drop green food coloring

Sesame seeds

In a small jar combine a few drops of water and green food coloring. Add coconut; cover and shake until all of the coconut is tinted. Set aside. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Place a peppermint pattie on top of a vanilla wafer on an ungreased cookie sheet. Place in oven 1 minute or just until chocolate begins to soften. Sprinkle each with 1/2 teaspoon of coconut. Top with another vanilla wafer. Press gently with a clean pastry brush, brush top vanilla wafer with water and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Makes 24 cookies.

New Hair

Today I decided I needed a change... Then I thought about it and realized it has been almost 2 years since I have cut my hair. So I called and made an apt for a cut and highlight. I dontated 5 inches. I was feeling really good about it until Cole said" I love your hair but you look "14". Then Seth said "Aww Mom I think you look at least 17. Oh well it is hair and it will grow back:)

Boys will be Boys and dirt bikes

I have said for as long as I can remember NOOO dirt bikes. Remember I am a helicopter Mom. The Mom that hovers too much, can not let her babies leave the nest, tissue Mom whatever you want to call me.. I love my babies some say a little too much. Or shall we say too attached. BUT I had a weak moment and today when Jason and I were out on a day date I saw a mini dirt bike and said yes. I chalk it up to being happy that I was on a rare day date with Jason but there is no turning back now. And really after seeing these faces I would be the Wicked Witch of the West if I took it back.

Jana Beth

Tonight I found this in Jana's Room
First there was just one clip

Then I found this... Love my silly girl

A week in the life of the Blanchards

Happy 11 month's Miss Lanie Lou. You are talking like crazy. Your new trick is to bark like a dog. You are such a good baby and we are so blessed by you daily. You always wake up with such a sweet smile.

On Tuesday we babysat your friend Sloan. He was so sweet and you had a lot of fun together.

We also hung out with your Boyfriend Isaiah. You are so cute together. You always want to hold his hand.
On Wednesday we had Cole's walking field trip. We had a lot of fun. We left at 9 am and did not get back until 2:30. Cole's favorite part was when we visited the Fire Station. Here is a picture of him and his BFF Jordon.

Note to self it does not matter how cute your shoes are blisters are not worth it. I will remember this for the future field trips for sure.

On Friday we took the kids to Relay for life. We wanted to go to support Maddie. Here is a link that the local news did. http://rockford.wzzm13.com/news/news/students-form-team-maddie-relay-life/57443
I bought a "Team Maddie" Bracelet and the kids got candy.

We also got some goldfish. Seth has been asking for a couple of months for fish to put in Hoppy's old tank. And well $1.00 was a good bargain and it supported a great cause. So $50 later and some new guppy friends we are all set. I really hope they live a long time. My Mom got some fish when Cole was 6 months old and we still have them. Tomorrow is Soccer games and parties, cleaning, date night I think I may have dust of my cape. TTYL.

Wait

I have a grin on my face and it really can not be washed off. Jana is walking really walking not just baby steps here or there. On our wood floors, outside on the driveway the grass.

John 1:16

From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another.

God has taught me so much this year. So much about grace. So much about strength. I still look at her in awe and amazement. Last week I could get Jana to pose for pictures today she will not sit long enough to to take a picture. She wants to walk away... God is so good.

Wait for the Lord; Be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalm 27. Sometimes its so hard to be patient and we want answers so quickly. But God's timing is perfect

Mothers Day.

On Mother's Day I was so very thankful for two things. My Mother and being able to be a Mother. So thankful for a Loving Mom that is the most unselfish person I know. She has always been the Mother that was there for us no matter what. I hope I can be as good as she has been to my children. The best gift she has given me was to teach me about God at young age and that through Christ all things are possible!! Thank you God for giving me the Best Mom a girl could have.

Jason spoiled me. Cards, Flowers, Breakfast in bed and Lunch and Dinner. He is a good Man and I am lucky to have him.
